"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love." John 15:4-9
Some people say "I did everything on my own". Especially when they are proud of an accomplishment or have material abundance. However, when things don't go their way, bad things happen and loved ones are defiant. They want to blame God or someone else.
Most of the times, they didn't abide in His Word or pray for Gods Will in their lives.
"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 16:21
We need to recognize we have free and our actions have consequences. God is good all on His own. He is not any less God if we believe in Him or not. His Word was written for our benefit not His. Jesus Christ our Lord and son of God paid a painful price our sins. It's our privilege to have a relationship with Him.
